The earliest historical attempts at blood transfusions often had lethal results. These results led to the investigation and discovery of blood types, as well as a deeper understanding of the importance of antigen/antibody interactions. In this investigation, students will utilize new simulated blood to determine the ABO/Rh blood type of four individuals, one in need of a transfusion. Based on the results, students will then determine which of three potential donors would provide the best match for the patient in need. Our kit includes - not just 3 - but 4 Simulated Blood Types: A+, B-, AB+ and O-, 3 Simulated Anti-Sera: Anti-A, Anti-B and Anti-RH, 12 Blood Typing Trays, Safety Data Sheets, and Instructions. Ordered for classroom use. Nothing on the box states that it should be kept cold or refrigerated. Kit was ruined and had to be returned. Have used this product before and was very satisfied.
