Bi-Metal Compound Bar with Wood Handle (#P319)
This compound bar has a thin metal strip, comprised of two different metals, fitted to a wooden handle. Upon heating with a bunsen burner or an alcohol burner, the strip bends in a particular direction, thereby showing unequal expansion of the metals. This demonstrates the physics of thermal expansion.Dimensions: Total length with handle 9 ½”. metal compound bar only 5 ¼”x 1” Recommended for ages 10 and older. Use only with adult supervision.
