M3 series combines 3 microscopes in one! The M3 allows you to view both microscopic specimens, by using the compound objectives (4X, 10X, and 40X), and macroscopic specimens, by using the 1X macro objective. It is cordless, using energy efficient rechargeable LED illumination, and compact so it is ideal for both classroom and field work applications. Through the unique configuration of objectives, the M3 achieves a magnification range of 10X-400X. Switching from compound to macro use is easy to accomplish by changing the objectives and adjusting the stage positions. All metal construction makes it durable for use in any environment. The unique tripod base keeps it sturdy even on rugged outdoor surfaces.

The Swift scope has solid construction and easy focus for a scope that has both classroom and field use. The 400x magnification is useful for all science instruction into the advanced High school level. The ability to operate on battery power is a plus. I enjoyed the Macro option which allows small items to be viewed at 10x and the package comes with both a white and black plastic plate to use on the base ring to adjust for contrast. I also purchased a digital microscope camera to be attached to a computer so all the students could view the specimen. The images appear clear through all three of the objective lenses with no noticeable blurring at the edges of the viewing field. The only drawback I found was on the macro function for objects that were raised up beyond the focus plane of the lenses. Since I was using a camera, I could back out the camera lens and obtain a clear image. I would recommend this scope for those seeking a microscope for portability, easy instruction and indoor/outdoor use.
