Congo Red (AC4064)

By definition, "An acid direct cotton dye, it is absorbed by amyloid and induces green fluorescence to amyloid in polarized light; used as a laboratory aid in the diagnosis of amyloidosis, as a histologic stain, and as an indicator (pH 3, blue-violet, to pH 5, red) in testing for free hydrochloric acid in gastric contents." Crystal Violet (AC4055)

By definition, "Crystal violet (also known as gentian violet and methyl violet 10B or hexamethyl pararosaniline chloride) is a triarylmethane dye used as a histological stain and in Gram's method of classifying bacteria." (#IS4055 / AC4055)

Methylene Blue (AC4050)

By definition, "Methylene blue is used to stain animal cells, such as human cheek cells, to make their nuclei more observable. Also used to stain the blood film and used in cytology." (#IS4050 / AC4050)

Safranin O (AC4046)

By definition, "Safranin O (also Safranin or basic red 2) is a biological stain used in histology and cytology. It is used as a counterstain in some staining protocols, colouring all cell nuclei red.
