Perfect pins

I use these in tear ducts on taxidermy game heads. They are the perfect size and stiffness to pin the tear duct in the foam mannikin while it dries and the hide glue locks it in place .

Thank you for leaving such a great review! We love to hear how our guests are using the products. We know these pins to be used for insects, for taxidermy as in your example, and even for art intallations in Florida! We appreciate the expertise and creativity put forth in your craft and hope to serve you again!

Sturdy and fantastic quality!

I got these pins to use for small mammal taxidermy. I use them to steady poses and facial expressions, and they work perfectly! They are hair thin, so they dont leave any visible marks and yet sturdy and stiff enough to poke into my base materials without bending or warping! 10/10 would buy again.

Hi, I need strong black steel pins like the ENTOMOLOGY: INSECT PINS > 4 (3254A). Can you tell me how strong they are? Can I hammer them into a wall without them bending? Thanks.
Thank you for your inquiry! The pins you refer to are made of steel, and size 4 pins are very strudy, but they are thin. Their purpose is to be inserted into an insect. I am aware that some users purchase them for taxidermy and even art installatioins, but I cannot advise if they would be substantial enough to go into a wall. Please call or email so we could arrange to send you a sample.
Will these pins bend when inserting them?
No. Reviewers confirm these pins are stiff and sturdy enough to insert into base materials without bending or warping, making them reliable for precision work in taxidermy and insect pinning.
Are these pins thin enough to avoid visible marks?
Yes. Multiple customers note the pins are hair-thin and do not leave visible marks on the materials they're used in, which is ideal for detailed work like taxidermy.
What is the black enamel finish for?
The black enamel finish protects the spring steel pins from rust, extending their lifespan and maintaining their appearance over time.
Are these good for insect specimen pinning?
Yes. These pins are specifically designed for entomology and insect pinning, and reviewers confirm they work perfectly for this purpose with excellent precision.
Where are these pins manufactured?
These pins are made in the Czech Republic from the same factory that produced the reputable BioQuip products, ensuring consistent quality.
