Premiere Large Glass Microscope Slides, 3" x 2", Plain, Frosted or Charged. Perfect for large biology specimens, as well as other educational, electronics, engineering, industrial and creative applications, and hobbies. All options are made of water white, corrosion resistant glass with smoothly polished edges and slightly clipped corners. A proprietary manufacturing process prevents slides from sticking together.

Charged slides have a special adhesive formula coating which allows specimens to adhere to the slides more easily, saving time and money in lab procedures. The white painted end demonstrates which side should face up, with word Premiere reading correctly, and for easy labeling.

All options are suitable for all medical applications. Made in accordance with international standard ISO 89037/1 and to the IVD (In Vitro Diagnostics Medical Devices Directive 98/79/EC). Additional properties are listed in the chart below.

Dimensions are 2" x 3" (50 x 75mm) and approximately 1mm thick. 72 slides per box, 20 boxes per case pack. Plain: MPN 6101-P, SKU CA6101. Frosted: MPN 6105, SKU CA6105. Charged: MPN 6305, SKU CA6305.

After using the slides we discovered that we were getting erroneous readings because the slides themselves are not optically clear. They have bubbles and what appears to be folds in the glass of the slides that make it impossible to use them for viewing filters for particle counts

Strong and stable

I use these to store my larger mineral samples but they are also strong enough to support my microscopes. I can stack them if needed to aquire a stable and comfortable height.

Clear But Dirty

I am using these for non-microscopic work. Optically, they are more than satisfactory. Very clear with essentially undetectable color cast. They do, however, require lots of cleaning out of the box. Each brand new slide has lots of spots and specks that do come off easily but they are there nevertheless. Wish I could find them in an even larger size for my purposes.

About 15 were cracked like it was dropped and hit a corner of the box. Packaging had multiple layers of bubble wrap. Other than that I am happy with them. I have more than enough I need to do my work.

These are high-quality glass slides (as you would expect from the price). I have ordered them twice to use in my laboratory, despite the long shipping time. They don't stick together in the box they come in (like some other slides do) and they are shatter-proof, breaking into large pieces when they do break.

Are these made with low iron glass or do they have a green tint?
Not sure I know anything about loe iron glass. But these are clear glass as I use them for windows in my hobbie buildings for which they are perfect.

If i need to view a specimen, will i need to purchase "cover slides" or can i use 2 of the 1mm slides in this package?
We wouldn't suggest using another slide to cover your specimen because the "cover" will be too thick and may cause distortion. Depending on what your specimen is you may, or may not, need a cover slip. Try an internet search with, "how to prepare _________ microscope slide specimens" for instructions relating to your application. We do offer several varieties of cover slips, if needed.
Are these slides heat resistant?

Thank you for your inquiry! Our largest cover slip measures 24 x 50mm, No. 1 thickness, 1 ounce, SKU 2075. We've not been able to find a manufacturer that will produce larger covers, unfortunately.
